Beautiful sunset

Two photos joined together to show both sunset and a bunch of contrails, it's rare to see these colours here. Except for the contrails and small clouds in the distance the sky was clear and it was also really cold. No editing was done aside from the pano stitching.

I just received my three Kenko extension tubes and went out for a quick test. It's hard to get (and keep) focus without a tripod, but the macro effect is a lot more than I expected. Too bad there are so little insects this time of year, but with the winter starting there are lots of frozen mini wonders waiting to be found. :)
Unusual cobweb, it's a kind of tunnel design. But it reminded me more of a wormhole, it pretty much has the same shape. Although the back plane is not really visible on the photo.

Heard a sound, pointed up and shot this one. Surprisingly sharp considering I was bent over backwards almost breaking my back! Though at 400ms it's hard to shoot blurry photos hehe.

Hairy butterfly

Look at the hair standing on its back! Bit of wax and you have a punk butterfly.
I really like the sharpness of the butterfly, especially the antennae and that hair. The eyes are freakishly camouflaged, some sort of checkered pattern. Definitely different from the dragonfly which had just one color with a clear black dot.

It had just rained a bit and I found this butterfly on our bamboo fence, drying its wings. So I was able to get really close.
